Delaware Chancery hears bid to send Miss Universe merger feud to arbitration
Responsible attorney: Lou Schwartz, Schwartz & Associates, PC, Atlanta, Georgia. intake@snalawyers.com
The partial owners of the Miss Universe Organization asked the Delaware Chancery Court to throw out a Malaysian company's lawsuit over a soured share sale and strategic partnership deal, arguing the suit is premature because arbitration is already pending in the dispute. The Chancery Court heard argument on the motion on October 5, 2026; no ruling has yet issued on whether the dispute must proceed in arbitration.
Why it matters. The ruling will show how Delaware courts police the line between litigation and arbitration in failed strategic-partnership and share-sale transactions, a forum-selection issue relevant to shareholders and investors in similarly structured deals.
