The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced that Kayem Foods Inc., a Chelsea, Massachusetts establishment, is recalling approximately 1,584,361 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products, including hot dogs, bacon, sausage, turkey breasts and hams, because the products may have experienced temperature abuse during storage. FSIS said the recalled items were produced between March 31, 2026 and October 7, 2026, and expressed concern that some product remains in consumers' refrigerators and freezers.
Why it matters. A recall of this scale covering widely distributed ready-to-eat meat products can generate foodborne-illness complaints and product-liability inquiries that plaintiff firms track alongside other large food-safety recalls.
