Metropolis sues Keller Postman in Chancery to block 1,900 privacy arbitrations
Responsible attorney: Lou Schwartz, Schwartz & Associates, PC, Atlanta, Georgia. intake@snalawyers.com
Parking-technology company Metropolis filed suit against 14 California parking-lot customers in Delaware Chancery Court, accusing plaintiffs' firm Keller Postman of orchestrating more than 1,900 individual arbitration demands over license-plate data collection in an effort to pressure Metropolis into a settlement. The filing seeks to block the arbitrations from proceeding. The dispute follows earlier litigation in which Keller Postman sought a declaratory ruling that Metropolis had no basis to challenge its solicitation of claimants.
Why it matters. The fight over mass arbitration tactics in a consumer privacy dispute is relevant to plaintiff-side firms evaluating similar mass-arbitration strategies and the corporate countermeasures being tested in Delaware courts.
