Pennsylvania federal judge dismisses investor suit against Coinbase over AML disclosures

Responsible attorney: Lou Schwartz, Schwartz & Associates, PC, Atlanta, Georgia. intake@snalawyers.com

A federal judge in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania dismissed a proposed securities class action accusing Coinbase Global Inc. of misleading shareholders about its regulatory compliance. The complaint had alleged that Coinbase's statements about its anti-money-laundering measures were false or misleading, but the court ruled those statements were not actionable. The ruling is separate from other pending Coinbase investor litigation in New York federal court over different disclosure issues.

Why it matters. The dismissal illustrates how courts are scrutinizing crypto-sector disclosure claims and sets a pleading-stage benchmark relevant to other securities suits over AML and regulatory-compliance statements.
