FDA Class II recall hits 4.3 million tubes of children's fluoride toothpaste

Responsible attorney: Lou Schwartz, Schwartz & Associates, PC, Atlanta, Georgia. intake@snalawyers.com

The FDA classified as Class II a nationwide recall of more than 4.3 million tubes of fluoride toothpaste, including children's varieties sold under brands such as Brush Buddies, Crayola, Hot Wheels and My Little Pony. The recall, initiated by manufacturer Pritam International Private Limited and distributor Ashtel Studios Inc., cites deviations from current good manufacturing practice requirements. As of the recall notice, no illnesses or injuries had been reported in connection with the affected products.

Why it matters. A large-scale recall of a widely sold children's product tied to manufacturing-quality lapses can generate consumer-injury inquiries, a pattern the firm tracks alongside other FDA consumer-product and OTC drug recalls.
