SEC orders second Fair Fund disbursement to Eagle Bancorp investors
Responsible attorney: Lou Schwartz, Schwartz & Associates, PC, Atlanta, Georgia. intake@snalawyers.com
The SEC issued an order on September 30, 2026 directing a second disbursement from the Eagle Bancorp, Inc. Fair Fund, which was created after the Commission's 2022 cease-and-desist order against the bank holding company over undisclosed related-party loans. The underlying order found Eagle Bancorp made material misstatements and omissions about related-party loans extended by its subsidiary EagleBank to trusts tied to its former chairman and CEO, and required disgorgement, prejudgment interest, and a civil penalty totaling over $13.3 million for distribution to harmed investors.
Why it matters. The order moves settlement funds closer to harmed investors, a step plaintiff-side firms track to confirm clients' recoveries from SEC enforcement actions are being paid out.
